About Cherrywood
Cherrywood is a strategic development zone in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown, designated by the Government in 2010. An Bord Pleanála approved the planning scheme in 2014 for a new town around the Luas Green Line; the council now expects about 10,500 homes.
The council must grant an application that is consistent with the scheme, and that decision cannot be appealed (section 170(3) of the 2000 Act).
